DMG MORI SAILING TEAM finished the preliminary race to win a ticket to the Vendée Globe2020

Mr. Kojiro Shiraishi from DMG MORI SAILING TEAM (hereinafter referred to as “the team”), established by DMG MORI CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “DMG MORI”) in October 2018, finished a trans-Atlantic race called “Vendée-Arctique-Les Sables d'Olonne” (hereinafter referred to as “the preliminary race”). As a result, the team won a ticket to the solo, round-the-world race without assistance, “Vendée Globe 2020,” starting from November 8th, 2020. The team will continue training at the home port of Lorient, France and aim for completion of the Vendée Globe 2020

I am very grateful that we successfully completed the team’s very first race. We truly appreciate the financial and emotional support from the sponsors and fans among others. We found some issues during the race relating to electrical and hardware designs, strategies and physical strength which we will improve and make the yacht fully ready for the 80-day, round-the-world yacht race. So in a sense, the Vendée-Arctique-Les Sables d'Olonne turned out to be an excellent practice for the Vendée Globe 2020.
